Son Heung-min bids farewell to Tottenham fans after a decade of unforgettable memories, 173 goals, and a Europa League title.

Speaking to reporters in Seoul ahead of Spurs’ pre-season clash with Newcastle United, the 33-year-old forward confirmed the decision:

“I need a bit of change. Ten years is a long time,” Son said, his voice tinged with emotion.

Son's journey with Spurs began back in 2015 when he signed from Bayer Leverkusen. Since then, he’s etched his name into the club’s history books with an incredible tally of 173 goals across all competitions. The highlight of his Tottenham career came this past May when he lifted the Europa League trophy - a crowning achievement in what he described as the fulfillment of his European football dream.

“I’ve achieved everything I dreamed of in Europe,” he added, clearly moved by the moment.

While his next destination hasn’t been officially confirmed, rumors strongly link Son with a move to Major League Soccer (MLS), potentially following in the footsteps of other European stars seeking new challenges overseas.

Tottenham’s head coach Thomas Frank praised the South Korean star, calling him “a fantastic player and a fantastic human being.”

Son leaves not just as a prolific scorer, but as a beloved figure admired for his humility, work ethic, and infectious passion for the game. As he embarks on the next chapter of his career, Spurs fans around the world will no doubt cherish the memories and wish him the very best.
